SHUTTLE BUSES

On 5-6 and 12-13 September, free shuttle bus service to visit the production sites of Langhirano, Lesignano de’ Bagni, Neviano degli Arduini, Tizzano Val Parma and Corniglio. Departure from Piazzale Corridoni, Langhirano. No bookings accepted. For information: tel. +39 348 8429844.

Where a specific shuttle bus is indicated (see schedule), the visits are to be understood as organized, and so it is essential to book at the InfoFestivalPoint of Parma Ham for shuttle buses departing from the Exhibition and Trade Fair (Pavilion 2 Salone del Camper, tel. +39 0521 996653 open from 12 to 20 September) or at the IAT in Parma (tel. +39 0521 218889 – 218855) for shuttle buses departing from Parma.

For individual visits it is necessary to contact the production sites directly.

Free shuttle buses to visit the Finestre Aperte and the events in the towns and villages involved in the Festival depart from the city centre and the Parma Exhibition and Trade Fair.

In addition, at the InfoFestivalPoint, every afternoon, from 4.30pm to 5.15pm, there will be “FESTIVAL TALKS”, a programme of conversations, book presentations, and meetings on food that will conclude with an Aperifestival (free tasting of Parma Ham until stocks run out accompanied by I Bibanesi bread and wine from the Colli di Parma Consortium).

Return departing at 2.30pm.

Visit to the San Nicola ham factory (at Prella, 1 – Ghiare di Corniglio), tel. +39 0521 881400; then departure at 12.30pm with the option of lunch, for a fee, with a typical menu at the Ristorante Claudia, Zona ex-Colonia Montana 2, Corniglio, tel. +39 0521 881399. At 2.30pm an optional visit to an exhibition by the painter Elena Samperi, ex-Colonia Montana; then at 3pm, excursion on foot across the Piana del Lagdei inside the enchanting National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, to discover Porcini mushrooms; suitable clothing a must. Return departing at 5.30pm.

Option of lunch at the ham stand in Piazza Gramsci, with musical entertainment. 2pm: visit to the Wine Cellar of Musei del Cibo (The Food Museums), inside the fortress Rocca Sanvitale, with sculptures by Jucci Ugolotti, and to the park of the Giardino Storico Farnesiano; special opening of the Sala dell’Apoteosi. Return departing at 4.30pm.
